Our community’s gathering space has been decorated with festive lights and Christmas bows; the children’s gifts have been wrapped and are ready to be shared with those who come to our Learning and Fun Program; and preparations are already well underway for our annual Christmas party!
Stu’s Story
Stu is in New Horizons three to four times a day. Living on your own can be lonely and difficult at times. At New Horizons, the staff and volunteers are always entertaining!
Steven’s Story
Steve started off as a customer at New Horizons, but he soon became a volunteer! Steve wanted more social interaction with people. At first, Steve was very shy and didn’t converse much with the other volunteers, but it wasn’t long before he was cracking inside jokes.
Megs’ Story
Megs Smith is a senior living alone in the north end of Hamilton. She is a lovely, kind woman, who would do anything for anyone, and always has a glint of mischief in her eyes.
Julia’s Story
Julia has been with New Horizons for sometime now. Julia started out her time with us, joined by a personal support worker. Her hope was to gain work experience and social skills.
Courtney’s Story
In today’s day and age, individuals both young and old encounter an endless amount of options and opportunities on a daily basis. Especially for adolescents and young adults, the abundance of options can make it difficult to define their path in life.
Donna’s Story
The place saved my life more than once and has had a positive, positive impact on the wonderful men my sons have become. My relationship began when I met a past volunteer and her little boy at the North End Library.
Phillip and Jake’s Story
This September, the Learning and Fun after-school program welcomed two new faces to our Grades 5-8 group. These young men, brothers, were new to the area and, after joining in our Summer Day Camp, their parents decided that Welcome Inn was the best place for them.
